What To Wear To Your Maternity Session

I hear you wondering – what should I wear for maternity photos on the Sunshine Coast? Let me tell you, I love a costume; I mean outfit change during a maternity session.

With Rhi, we actually did four outfit changes! She started in a simple linen bump friendly dress for some family photos and adventuring the rock pools at Shelly Beach, Caloundra. She then changed into one of my client closet dresses for some solo photos against the stunning rock wall. After this, we tried out a denim and bra combo which I absolutely love. Undone jeans or overall is such a vibe with your gorgeous baby bump. Finally, we stripped a bit more raw with a beautiful white underwear set with a gorgeous Coven and Co Kimono from my client closet, definitely a crowd favourite….

I feel like your maternity shoot is time to experiment and show off your body in a way you might not normally. Wear something extravagant, show off that glorious body of yours, creating magic. While you may not feel amazing in your third trimester, I promise, you look amazing. I will capture your most flattering angels and show you what a goddess you are.

I have a range of dresses in my client closet that you can borrow for your shoot. It is a work in progress but there are some really gorgeous pieces in there. More to come very soon…

Some mamas to be also choose to hire a dress for their maternity photos which I am all about. Some companies, both local to the Sunshine Coast or Australia wide are listed here below:

Ivy -Rose Maternity Hire
Mama Rentals
Everything Lace Hire

Now, what I truly love in maternity photos is skin. I love when you show off your bump and the female form, incredible in every shape and size. Whether that’s in a bikini top or bralette with open jeans or overalls, an underwear or bikini set with an overshirt or kimono or going topless or partially nude, I love it all. I think it’s a time to celebrate and embrace the incredible work that you and your body are doing.

If you don’t want to show skin though, I completely respect that and am more than happy to photograph you in whatever you feel comfortable in.
