1. The Beach
Hello, we are blessed with some of the most incredible beaches here on the Sunshine Coast. I am happy to shoot at any beach that happens to be special to your family. I often do photoshoots at Shelly Beach, Caloundra, Wurtulla Beach and Point Cartwright but have also shot at Chambers Island, Noosa, Mooloolaba, Kings Beach, Moffat Beach and Currimundi Lake. The Beaches have a variety of stunning greenery with the sun peeking through on sunset. Or at sunrise, the most incredible light over the water. There’s also some incredible rock walls and rock pools at some of my favourite beach locations. I do probably 80% of shoots at the beach.
2. Waterfalls or National Parks
A Buderim there’s a lovely waterfall perfect for certain types of shoots. I would recommend maternity or couple photos here. Depending on your kids ages and personalities, we could definitely do a family shoot here but I probably wouldn’t recommend it with young walkers or kids of the age that like to run off. There are some slippery spots. I had one of my own maternity sessions here with my little toddler and absolutely love the photos.
There are some lovely national parks such as Mooloola Botanic Gardens. I’m always up for suggestions if you have a special place you’ve been to.
3. Mountain Hike or Bush Walk
Emu Mountain is an epic photo spot. If you choose this location, there is a bit of a walk up but it’s well worth it. I recommend boots or at least sneakers to walk up in. The golden hour is gorgeous and there’s a mix of dirt tracks, various greenery, spiky grass and some epic rock formations to explore.
If you love bushland but aren’t quite up for a mountain climb, I have a beautiful bush land location up my sleeve. It’s in the Sippy Downs area and has a beautiful variety of dirt tracks, farm like fences, a gorgeous bushwalk leading to a sandy white path and to a gorgeous rocky stream. I really love this location!
4. Lake
There’s some beautiful inlets we can explore and even go swimming in in the summertime. These are perfect for splashing or swimming in and work perfectly for maternity if you want to submerge and also for family sessions where you’re keen for a salty session. Currimundi Lake is one of my favourites and also has beautiful greenery around it.
5. Family House or AirBnB
For in home family sessions, newborn, extended family sessions and even maternity sessions, your home is a magical space. No one is there watching, all your comforts are there and it’s uniquenly you and your family. It’s a beautiful thing to look back on what furniture you had, and what adorned your walls ‘back in the day’ when you look back. An Air BnB is beautiful as they are generally nicely styled and are clutter free. There are some really epic Air BnB’s here on the Sunshine Coast.
