It’s not always possible to have your photos in the golden hours of the day which is the hour from sunset and the 90-60 minutes before sunset. Sometimes, a 7am session is just what suits and look at the magic that can be created. Brighter colours and skies, fun in the sun, rolling in the sand. You won’t get the perfect light for portraits that are the most flattering for the ‘look at the camera’ type shots but you will get candid fun, movement and happy children.

Balancing on mum’s legs, having the time of his life. Being in the moment with your children, having fun with them and getting down and sandy makes for such fun, joyful photographs.

Full sun shoots are becoming more popular as all the old rules of photography go out the window. Look at Sam and Kristine, I just love this shoot. Can you believe it’s one of the first shoots I ever did when I opened my photography business? These photographs were captured at Shelly Beach, Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.

Motherhood is one of my favourite sessions to capture. Being a Mum of 3 myself, I know the sacrifice, the challenge and the beauty of motherhood very well. I feel it all deeply, the joy, the challenge, the rollercoaster and the feeling of time slipping away too fast. I also know that mothers are often the ones taking the photos. We deserve to be in the frame. Get in it, for yourself and your children. They deserve to see the love between you and them. They deserve to see the connection in your eyes when you look at them and they way their arms drape over your shoulder when you carry them.

If you’d like me to capture your motherhood journey, please reach out. I can do a full session of you and your little loves. I also often run mini sessions of motherhood once or twice a year. I also sometimes do very special group motherhood shoots where I capture a whole group of mothers and their children and then capture individual photos of the mums and their young loves for the majority of the session.
